Dental Procedure and Practicing Good Oral Hygiene

I hope you’re finding some time to care for yourself this weekend in whatever you can.

It was the longest week so far, and I have to admit that it was a rough week following last Tuesday’s dental procedures resulting from an infected tooth! It was a painful experience with some tears, still in recovery. But then I remember that recovery is not a race, and I don’t have to feel guilty if it takes me longer than I thought it would. I am still living with diet restrictions- smoothies, yogurt, and ice cream fitness routine is on hold until complete recovery.

Oral Hygiene

I have been practicing good oral hygiene daily to protect my oral health by:

  • I brush my teeth at least twice a day for two minutes each time. I use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.
  • Flossing daily and after meals.
  • I am using mouthwash to remove food particles left after brushing and flossing.
  • I eat a healthy diet (soft food for now) and no sugary food and drinks.

In general, be sure to contact your dentist as soon as an oral health problem arises. Taking care of your oral health is an investment in your overall health. Thanks for reading, happy weekend!
